Typical applications

Ring terminals are commonly used in electrical installations that need a fixed connection point, rather than a plug-in connector. They are often chosen for wiring in automotive, marine, workshop and general electrical projects, provided the conductor size and stud diameter match the terminal specification.

The yellow colour is part of the terminal identification system used on many crimp terminals, but the exact wire range and insulation colour code can vary by manufacturer. Check the cable size, stud size and crimp tool compatibility before fitting.

Choosing the correct terminal

To select the right terminal, confirm the diameter of the bolt or stud you are fastening to, and make sure the terminal’s ring opening will sit correctly on it. You should also verify the wire size the terminal is intended to accept, as this listing does not supply a cable cross-section rating.

If you are replacing an existing terminal, matching the ring size and connection method is usually the best starting point. For new wiring, check the equipment terminal requirement and the conductor size before ordering.
