Typical applications

Momentary starter switches are commonly used where a circuit only needs to be energised while the button is held in. They may be used for starter circuits, control panels, machinery, accessories or other electrical equipment, depending on the system design and the ratings required.

Choosing the correct switch

To select the right replacement or fitting, match the switch action, physical form and electrical requirements of your application. A momentary switch is not the same as a latching switch, so check whether the circuit needs a brief contact or a maintained position. Also confirm the mounting arrangement, terminal style and any voltage or current rating needed for your equipment, as these details are not supplied here.

Handling and installation

Before installation, isolate the circuit and check compatibility with the equipment it will control. If you are replacing an existing switch, compare the original part carefully to make sure the action and dimensions match.
