Key product details

• Brand: Victron
• Product range: Phoenix Inverter Smart
• Model reference: 12/2000
• Power system type: inverter
• Input voltage indicated by the model reference: 12V

Typical applications

Inverters of this type are commonly used where battery power needs to run AC equipment. That can include leisure vehicles, boats, remote installations and backup power arrangements, provided the inverter size and electrical characteristics suit the connected load and the rest of the system.

The exact output capability, waveform, communication features and protective functions should always be checked against the full product specification before purchase, especially if the inverter will be used for sensitive electronics or appliances with high start-up currents.

Choosing the correct inverter

When selecting a power inverter, the key checks are the battery system voltage, the power demand of the equipment and any installation constraints such as cable sizing, ventilation and mounting space. The 12/2000 designation tells you this model is intended for a 12V system, but the buyer should still confirm the complete rating and feature set matches the intended use.

If you are replacing an existing unit, match the model reference carefully rather than relying on the range name alone, as inverter families can include different capacities and Smart variants.

Handling and installation

Power inverters should be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and by a suitably qualified person where required. Correct fuse protection, cable selection and ventilation are important for safe operation.
