Typical applications

Thinwall cable is commonly used in electrical installations where reduced insulation thickness and a flexible single conductor are helpful. The blue colour can assist with circuit identification, but the correct use depends on the wiring scheme and the equipment or system being worked on.

This type of cable is generally chosen for wiring tasks that call for a 2mm2 single core conductor, rather than a multi-core cable or a different cross-sectional area. Buyers should match the cable size, colour and specification to the requirements of the installation.

Choosing the correct single core thinwall cable

Check the required conductor size before ordering, as cable selection affects current-carrying capacity and suitability for the job. Also confirm the colour coding needed for your application and whether a 100m reel is the most practical length for the work involved.

If you are replacing existing cable, compare the marked size and construction as well as the insulation type, so the replacement matches the original specification as closely as possible.
