Typical applications

Standard blade fuses are widely used in vehicles and other low-voltage electrical equipment to protect circuits from overcurrent. They are selected by fuse size, blade style and amperage rating, so the correct replacement must match the holder and the circuit specification. An assorted box is particularly useful when you service several vehicles or equipment types and need common fuse ratings to hand.

Choosing the correct blade fuse

Before fitting a replacement, check the removed fuse, the owner’s handbook or the circuit label for the correct amperage. The fuse style must also match the fuse block, as blade fuses come in different sizes and formats. Always replace a blown fuse with the same rating unless the equipment manufacturer specifies otherwise.

Handling and replacement guidance

Switch off the circuit before replacing a fuse and inspect the holder for heat damage or corrosion. If a new fuse blows again soon after fitting, there may be a fault in the circuit that needs investigation rather than another fuse of a higher rating.
